They're really quiet, clear, detailed, open. Holography? Not sure. You might be looking for the sound of Blackburn Mullard long plates, though even if you can find good used pulls at this point they won't be as quiet, detailed or extended sounding.

Those GE 3-mica black-plate 5751 are usually my favorite for exceptional clarity.
